“One hundred and fifty youth were chosen to travel to one of the four forums following a national competition designed to engage young people in a discussion about the future of Canada. These youth along with their peers acting as local hosts will have an unforgettable week-long experience meeting with mentors and organizations and learning about the subject that matters most to them. ” says Deborah Morrison, president and CEO of Experiences Canada. “Now we are widening the dialogue to invite youth to be a part of the conversation by attending the Youth Forums either on site or online, for free!”

“This is a perfect way for teachers to celebrate Canada 150 – bringing their class or a group of students from their school to hear from prominent key note speakers and emerging youth leaders and activists, and to talk to each other about the subjects and issues they are passionate about. This is their opportunity to speak up and help shape the future of Canada!”

All regional Canada 150&Me Youth Forums are free to register and are open to schools and students between the ages of 14-19. Each forum will select 37-38 representatives from among on-site and on-line youth participants to form a leadership group of 150 young people who will travel to Ottawa, June 26-July 2. While in Ottawa they will work as volunteers on Canada 150 events throughout the week, as well as formally report on their discussions to the Governor General of Canada along with government, business and community leaders at the National Youth Forum to be held at the National Art Gallery of Canada on June 28th.

Experiences Canada 150&Me is proud to be named a Signature Canada 150 Initiative and supported by a number of national, provincial and local sponsors and partners including TD Bank Group, Great West Life, the McCain Foundation and West Jet.

REGIONAL EVENTS
150 youth from across Canada will be offered the chance to travel and experience a week of amazing cultural, educational and community engagement activities. They will be joined by like-minded youth from host cities at one of four regional 150& Me Forums in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Montreal or Halifax.

PARTICIPATING ON-LINE
Schools, groups and youth from across Canada, whether they are selected to travel or not, can still join in the conversations at regional forums by attending onsite or online through live streaming of each event. Participating at these regional events also offers a whole new set of students and youth group members the chance to travel and represent their regional event at a National Youth Forum to be held in Ottawa the week before Canada Day.

NATIONAL FORUM
A second leadership group of 150 youth, selected from participants on-site and on-line at the regional Forums, will travel to Ottawa June 24 – July 2. This group of participants will report on their conversations at regional Forums, represent their respective communities, share their ideas with government and business leaders – and throughout the rest of the week, take on key volunteer roles in the Canada 150 celebrations. This will be a Canada Day to remember!
