“北斗杯”全国青少年科技创新大赛由教育部卫星导航研究中心及北京大学数字中国研究院组织实施，自2010年开始举办，已举办6届比赛，2016年第七届大赛是第一年向国际青少年开放。大赛旨在鼓励青少年进行科技发明与创新，并由中国运载火箭及卫星科技著名科学家孙家栋院士指导。国际赛区(北美赛区)比赛由位于密市的杜威学院承办。
大赛规则(Contest Rules & Regulations)
1. 针对卫星导航科技领域(Target is satellite navigation scientific field):
参赛作品需要围绕卫星导航科技领域，要将卫星导航系统在各行各业中的应用作为突出重点。All entries need to be related to Satellite Navigation by focusing on the application of the satellite navigation technology in various industries.
2. 参赛选手(Contestants):
– 参赛选手可为高中学生(G9-G12)或大学大专在校生(Contestants can be high school students (G9-G12) or university/college students).
– 参赛选手可为个人或小组(4人以下)(Contestants can be individuals or groups (less than 4 individuals)).
作品要求(Submission Format)
应用产品制作(包括实物类作品，基于Andriod, IOS, Windows等平台的智应用软件或flash, Digital Video, 绘画, 摄影)，创新应用方案，科技论文等。(Physical objects. Software applications/flash based on Android, IOS, Windows. Digital Video, painting, photography works. Application solutions. Scientific paper.)
大赛奖励机制(Contest Awards and Recognition)
1.所有北美赛区参赛选手都将获得参赛证书。
2.经北美赛区评审，前30位获奖作品将获得北美赛区杰出创造奖(获证书及奖品)并被寄往北京总赛区参赛。
3.凡被寄往北京的作品将有机会获得额外的总赛区奖励。
4.凡在总赛区参赛获奖学生，将有机会参加2周赴中国北京和四川的旅行， 参加颁奖典礼并游览中国首都北京和四川省。
