Gibson’s NOFRILLS® is celebrating its grand opening on Friday, July 17. The new store will appeal to consumers looking for quality food essentials at a great value. With a focus on supporting the local community, fresh produce and low prices, Gibson’s NOFRILLS® will offer customers a simple and efficient shopping experience.
Franchisee Jeff Gibson is proud to welcome the community to the store located at 980 Franklin Boulevard in Cambridge. The grand opening of Gibson’s NOFRILLS® will be marked by a ribbon cutting ceremony and photo opportunity at 7:45 a.m.
NOFRILLS® customers will be able to find popular President’s Choice®, no name® and national brand products, as well as produce, meat, dairy items and baked goods. Unique to this Cambridge NOFRILLS® location is a full-service fresh meat counter and seafood counter. The store also features a PC Financial® Pavilion and a Wine Rack kiosk making Gibson’s NOFRILLS® a convenient shopping destination for customers.

Franchisee Jeff Gibson started his career in grocery retail in 1984 at a Zehrs® store in Wingham, Ontario. He quickly worked his way up to store management, overseeing the operations of several grocery stores in his 30 year career. Jeff brings a lot of experience to this new store and looks forward to serving the Cambridge community for many years to come.
At 35,000 square feet, Gibson’s NOFRILLS® store is fresh, bright and uncluttered with easy to navigate aisles, multiple checkouts and accessible parking. The cheery colours of yellow and red are key hallmarks of NOFRILLS® stores. The notable use of wooden slates on walls, wood crates for display cases, and soft lighting, help to create a welcoming, customer-oriented ambience.
The first NOFRILLS® store opened in East York near Toronto in July of 1978 introducing some highly innovative retailing concepts to Canadian consumers. At a time when consumers were feeling the pinch of high inflation, many were only too happy to give up the added extras to get low prices at the checkout counter; and value for the consumer is still as much of a focus for NOFRILLS® stores today as it was when their doors first opened over three decades ago.
Gibson’s NOFRILLS® store will be open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
