During her award-winning career as a journalist, Hollett worked with CBC, CTV, and MuchMusic. She also spent time training journalists in Sierra Leone through her work with Journalists for Human Rights. Hollett has a long history of social justice work, which has included volunteering with CARE Canada and working for The Leading Change Network and Plan Canada.

“I’m honoured and excited to be the candidate in our diverse riding of University-Rosedale. I’m deeply concerned about growing inequality, the environment, and jobs. I’m running because I believe together we can build a better Canada, for everyone,” said Hollett.

The launch was hosted by Hollett supporter, Jajube Mandiela a well known local actor from Degrassi, artistic director, and Christie Pits resident.

“Jennifer ‘walks her talk’ not just on the world stage but at home in downtown Toronto. She champions youth concerns and opportunities, and is dedicated to addressing and positively resolving environmental issues. Jennifer brings a vibrant and inclusive perspective, and to no surprise has built impressive momentum over the last several months. She is the kind of political representative who will take action to make our community thrive,” said Mandiela.

The launch was attended by staunch party supporters and a large number of people who do not usually vote NDP but have decided to throw their support behind Hollett.

“I don’t traditionally support New Democrats, but I hope you can join me in supporting Jennifer for University-Rosedale all the same. I’m a Seaton Village resident, and Jennifer has already proven to me that she’s actually cares about the local issues we face in a changing community. As important, her solid background in technology and innovation issues will bring a smart, refreshing and optimistic perspective to a Parliament that desperately needs more of all three,” said Brian Kelcey, Seaton Village resident

There is growing momentum for the NDP across the country. “It’s time to fix the damage Harper has done – the NDP will do exactly that,” said Hollett.
