尽管与他网络交流不少，但笔者至今还没有问他的名字。不过，名字本身就是一个符号，既然他是收藏纸币的大佬，那笔者就用B先生来代指吧！
与B先生交流，源于他对笔者手头一大堆硬币感兴趣。在对这堆硬币感兴趣的同时，B先生也给了其他几张旧币的价格。从笔者看，硬币价格有点偏低，还算过得去，但是旧币价格实在偏低，低过笔者的直接成本。在这种情况下，最后自然是不了了之！
从笔者感受看，B先生对笔者的硬币依然兴趣正浓，也许在未来哪一天我们会成功交易，假若没有其他买家出现的话！我如实告诉B先生，我知道这套硬币的市场价值所在，而且我也并不急于出售。作为自己的一个爱好，持有与出手，其实都是一样的。因为我今年卖了这套硬币，明天就可能购买另一套！
对于这一点，B先生很有共同语言。他告诉笔者说，“这也是我的爱好！(This has always been a hobby for me as well. I also have a full time job.)”听到B先生这么说，笔者还甚感意外，为何呢？他说过，“I have been in this business for 51 years. Been there, done that, seen it all. Have done shows all the way from Edmonton to Halifax. I know this business very well. Moving inventory around the country, travel, hotel costs, table rents at shows and means are not cheap. If you are not competitive with prices, you will never sell enough to cover costs.”
看到这些，笔者很好奇B先生的工作，他说，“I work at the OPP crime lab in Chatham as a leadhand. I have been working Monday to Friday 8 to 12:30 and then 3:30 to 5:30 and Saturday and Sunday I do a 2 hour shift at some point in the day. Have not had a day off since March 19, 2020.”不过，B先生也强调，“Other than the twice daily disinfecting, I have plenty of computer time as long as there are no major maintenance issues.”
B先生强调，在65岁的时候依然拥有这样的爱好，那是一件相当不错的事情！当笔者问到他什么时候开始这个爱好时，B先生告诉我，“早在1962年，也就是他6岁时就开始每周购买一卷(Roll)一分硬币，花的是他自己的零花钱(Allowance)50分。而在14岁时，我就开始跳蚤市场(Flea Market)。”
对于小时候能够赚钱，B先生颇感自豪。他说，“And because I have always had a job to pay the bills from delivering newspapers at age 10 to farm work and lawn cutting, I have always been able to reinvest profits from coins into more inventory. My original 50 cents is now worth a whole lot. I still encourage kids to roll hint for good coins. Last week a kid in Chatham found a 1973 large bust quarter in a roll.”
同时，B先生也给笔者支招，与银行工作人员交朋友。他举例说，“If you know your banks very well, they are a great place to get coins. A year ago a bank called me with 140 bankers boxes of rolled pennies $3,500 face value which I took, Sold all 140 boxes in a six week period for $75 per box.”对于B先生的幸运，笔者自然只有祝贺的份！
